Prof. Isaac Sequeira, Prof. Emeritus UGC

Prof. Isaac Sequeira retired as the Head of the Dept of English, and Dean, Faculty of Arts, Osmania University. He has many research publications to his credit. His publications include The Theme of Initiation in Modern American Fiction (1975), The Manifesto For Humor (1985), Popular Culture: East and West (1991), The Closing of the Frontier (ed - 1994), American studies Today (ed- 1995) to name a few. He has published over eighty scholarly papers on American Studies, Music, and European Literature, both in American and Indian Journals. He has lectured widely in American and Indian Universities and on the UGC Television for the countrywide classroom.

He was the Fulbright Scholar at the University of Utah in 1966, and an American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) fellow at the Bowling Green University, Ohio in 1979. Prof. Sequeira was a visiting professor at the Bowling Green University Ohio in 1979 and 1989. In 1985 he was the UGC national lecturer and since 1991 UGC professor Emeritus. Presently he is the Director of the Indo-American centre for International Studies, formerly American studies research Centre (ASRC) Hyderabad. Prof. Isaac Sequeira is deeply interested in Western Classical music and has a keen understanding of the subject.


Dr. M. RadhaKrishna Sarma

Formerly U.G.C. Emeritus Fellow
Head. Dept. of Ancient Indian History, Culture, Archaeology,
Osmania University.

Prof. M. Radhakrishna Sarma holds a masters degree in History from Madras University and obtained his doctorate from Osmania University.

Spanning over a period of 40 long years from 1953 to 1993 he was associated with teaching profession in government colleges and Osmania University.

Dr. Sarma is the founder of the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Osmania University. He served as Head of the Department from 1975 to 1993--- also University Grants Commission Emeritus Fellow: 1995-1997.

Dr. Radhakrishna Sarma is associated with a number of Universities as member of Board of studies, or faculty member. He also delivers lectures at Academic Staff Colleges. He is a member of the Central Advisory Board of Museums, Marathwada University.

Prof. Taqi Ali Mirza

Mr. Taqi Ali Mirza holds a masters degree in English Literature from Osmania University and a senior diploma in French. He has a rich experience of 37 years as faculty member of the Department of English. He has the credit of specialization in the following areas.

     A. History of English Language
     B. Chaucer
     C. 18th Century Literature
     D. Victorian Literature

He was editor Osmania Journal of English Studies and also edited a number of books including The Indian Response to William Golding.

His translations of J.P Sartre’s “Les Mots” and St. Exupery’s Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) into Urdu have received wide acclaim.

Prof. Taqi Ali Mirza has also served as a member of the Jury of the Sahitya Academy, New Delhi for translation work. His contribution of papers to learned journals in India and abroad is a testimony to his deep interest and command over the subject.
